The Role of WeQuests in Learning a Foreign/Second Language?

First let me tell you about WebQuest and some of its benefits, a WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented lesson format in which most or all the information that learners work with comes from the World Wide Web. WebQuest can be as short as a single class period or as long as a month-long, it depends on the topic that you choose and process.

The roles of the student and the teachers also the advantages of WebQuest are shown below:

·       Using WebQuests in our classrooms can help the student to know what teamwork means.
·       Using WebQuests can help the students in facing the challenges in the future.
·       The students will be divided into groups and each member of the group will have specific role so they will be responsible of their work.
·       Students will learn how to search and solve problems
·       Students will develop their critical thinking skills.
·       The teacher's role is to provide some suggestions to do things differently also to provide resources.
·       The role of students is to look for the information by using the resources that the teacher provided and gathering them together.

For me as a future EFL teacher, I'll use WebQuest because it is really an interesting method of teaching a lesson.  And as I mentioned before, it has many wonderful benefits and the most important is that it can help the students in facing the challenges in the future.
